Indoor Day Events For Public

A wide variety of programmes are on the anvil for the public in connection with ‘Splash 2009’, the Monsoon Carnival organised under the auspices of Wayanad Tourism Organisation which would start from July 3 at Chandragiri auditorium.

In its first ever venture to catapult the district into a high profile tourism destination with its own Tourism Carnival, the organisation is all set to ensure maximum public participation at al stages of the carnival.

The most important items in the menu for the public are:

July 4, Saturday
Forenoon -Career Guidance Class: The session aims at catering to students of std. 9th and 10th of the district. The registration process for the session has been started which would be closed on July 2nd. Dr. Jithendranath would lead the session.

After Noon-Introduction to Farm Tourism with focus at Organic farming: This session aims at helping farmers with minimum 3 acres of land, to enter into farm tourism. Experts would lead sessions on various aspects of farm tourism. To give advice on the financial assistance for the promotion farm tourism ventures, financial experts also would be available to clear doubts.

The registration would be closed on July 2nd.

July 5, Sunday

A painting competition for the students of LP (crayon), ‘UP and High School’ (water colour) classes would be held on Sunday. The timing would be 10 am to 12 am. The registration would be closed on July 3rd.  The participants should bring all the necessary material including paper, paint etc. The theme would be given on time at the venue.

Afternoon (2pm to 4 pm ): A district-level Quiz competition would be held  for students of high school classes. The programme is being organised with the cooperation of Sarwa Shikshak Abhiyan. Registration would be closed on 3rd July.

July 6, Monday

Cooking classes for housewives: There would be ‘training with demonstration’ session with six dishes in three sessions for housewives of the district. .  Timing is 10 am to 3.30pm.   The registration would be closed by July 4.

July 7, Tuesday

Cooking competition for housewives. The organisers would give the names of dishes. Participants can prepare the dishes in advance. Presentation and finishing jobs could be done at the venue. Detailed recipe should be submitted. The timing would be 10.30 am to 12 pm. Registration starts on June 29th and would be closed ob July 4th.

Afternoon: A competition in ‘fresh flower and dry flower’ arrangement.  Timing would be 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. Registration starts on June 29th and would be closed ob July 4th.

July 8, Wednesday

A Photography competition also would be organised for photographers of the district

9th Thursday & Friday, July 10th:

Agricultural exhibition and seminar organised with the cooperation of department of agriculture.  Experts on various areas of agriculture would attend series of sessions. New trends in agriculture, introduction of new technologies, seeds and instruments also would be there.
